Is it even possible for doctors to get into muscle building programs from the hospital? Is it even possible that they can find the time?

It is unfortunate that the doctors themselves are so unhealthy despite the hospital gyms which cater to the patients who have to have physical therapy under direct supervision of a hospital therapist. These gyms are fully equipped and should encourage the doctors to do some workouts, but with their 38 hour work shifts, sometimes even more, they simply do not have the time anymore. All they could do is to attend to the numerous patients and steal a nap or two before they are woken up again. To say that one of the unhealthiest people on earth is the doctor and that is saying it mildly.

Doctors who work in hospitals are stressed out and live on coffee most of the time to keep up with the work load. It is when they are not practicing in the hospital that they get healthier because they have more time to relax and to workout. These private practitioners are healthier but not that much.

The only way to help out these doctors is to actually give them the time to be healthy. Is it impossible? Almost, and that is the honest truth. However, some hospitals are more humane than others and they actually allow their doctors to have at least a day or two out of the hospital grind, unlike other hospitals that only give 24 hours rest for their residents.

Some hospitals now make it a point to have healthier doctors, making sure that they get the right diet and the right muscle building programs, not because of anything really, but they want alert and more productive doctors. Vince Delmonte also mentions about the workouts for the doctors in no nonsense muscle building program.They find that if their doctors were healthier they think faster on their feet and they can do more work.

However, these hospitals are rare and far in between and has still to catch on the imagination of the health community. For now, all we can hope for is that more hospitals will ensure the health of their doctors.
